Pre season activity at WPR

With the 2016 season about to start at Castle Combe on Easter Monday the WPR team have been busy getting ready. At the pre-race test on Thursday March 24th Pete Diccox and Steve Bracegirdle were out in their Van Diemen RF89s. Steve was trying out his new brakes with lightweight centres and floating discs while Josh Fisher was spending time ensuring that the set up on his Richard Hudson-Evans Van Diemen JL14 was spot on and hoping to follow his 2015 Championship winning season at Oulton Park with a similar result at Combe in 2016.

Also in a John Loebell built Van Diemen (this time a very smart JL15) was Rory Smith embarking on his first full season of racing after a promising showing at the end of 2015.

For the Easter Monday meeting they are to be joined by Andrew Higginbottom in the team's Van Diemen RF88 for the Formula Ford championship race and Guy Parr (Fiesta) & Steve Bracegirdle (Mini) in the saloon race.

The first competitive outing for a WPR prepared car had actually come a week earlier at the Great Western Sprint at Combe where Chris Bennett had a rare outing in his Van Diemen RF89 enjoying his first run with a Neil Barnett engine.
