A win for Fisher and 4th for McHale
WPR were back at Oulton Park on July 4th with Josh Fisher (in the Hudson-Evans' Van Diemen RF99) and Calum McHale (Van Diemen RF89) in their quest to win both the AVON Tyres Northern FF1600 Post '89 and Pre '90 Championships.
In Post '89 qualifying Josh was half a second off the pace but following a good start got into the lead on Lap 2 which he held until the end despite coming under very heavy pressure from the cars behind and winning by a tenth! The result ensured that Josh stayed at the head of the Championship standings.
Calum qualified second for the Pre '90 race and which was actually Class C pole. But in the race nerves got the better of him after holding second for the first 9 laps, dropping to fourth at the finish. This was, however, still a Class C podium and enough to stay in front in the Championship.
