A three win weekend for WPR at Oulton!

The Wayne Poole Racing Team returned to its winning ways at Oulton Park on April 18th as Josh Fisher and Calum McHale took three race wins between them and both taking the lead in their respective Avon Tyres FF Northern Championships.

Josh Fisher was racing in the Post '89 event in Richard Hudson-Evans' Van Diemen RF99 and qualified on pole. A good start meant Josh was never headed as he took a flag to flag win. For race 2 the start wasn't as good and Josh was involved in a three way scrap for the lead eventually finishing second with fastest lap and an early lead in the Championship.

In the Pre '90 event Calum McHale and Steve Bracegirdle were out in their Van Diemen RF89s and Calum qualified an encouraging 5th with Steve a bit further back in 14th not having had the benefit of a pre race test which both Calum and Josh had enjoyed.

Calum must have been inspired by his team mate's effort in the first Post '89 race as he made an excellent start, led at the end of lap 1 and wasn't headed for the rest of the race! Calum had never been on the podium before so along with fastest lap this was a breakout result. Steve also made a good start and was up to 7th place my mid race before being hit in an ambitious manoeuvre by another competitor. Steve did recover and took tenth at the end.

In Race 2 Calum did it again, leading from start to finish although didn't take fastest lap this time. Steve was embroiled in the middle of the pack and came home 11th and did manage to beat his previous PB at the track.
