A mixed bag at Oulton Park

At Oulton Park on August 31st the WPR team brought along 3 Van Diemens for the Northern Pre 90 Formula Ford Championship race with Wayne Poole, Steve Bracegirdle and Don Boyack aboard.

With Wayne leading the Champion of Oulton FF Championship he was keen to maintain his lead but "cracked under pressure" (but fortunately only briefly!) in practice to qualify a disappointing 8th. However, a storming start, up to fourth place at the end of Lap 1 which he held to the end meant that he kept a Championship lead of 14 points with just two rounds to go.

Meanwhile Steve had qualified in the top half of the field in tenth place which was converted to a satisfactory eight in the race. Don qualified a steady 17th and made up places to finish the race in 14th.
