Steve Bracegirdle & Pete Diccox first & second twice!

The WPR team were set for a quiet week-end double header for the Castle Combe Fathers day race meeting on June 16/17 with just Steve Bracegirdle and Pete Diccox out in their Van Diemen RF89 Formula Fords and Steve in the GT races.

For the Saturday race Steve qualified 2nd with Pete just behind in 3rd in class and these were converted to 1st and 2nd in the race after class leader Ian Houston tangled with a back marker on the final lap.

For the Sunday race Steve was delighted with his 1m 14.6s practice lap which put him on class pole with Pete 2nd. Another one two in the race followed with fastest lap and the championship class lead for Steve into the bargain.

Unfortunately Steve was unable to qualify his Nemesis GT for the first GT race due to a split clutch pipe but this was repaired and Steve qualified 4th for the second race. The race was wet but by posting his best ever wet times in a GT Steve was able to secure third in the race for his first ever GT podium!

Wayne Poole and Guy Parr were entered to share the team's BMW Mini Cooper in the pursuit race but a fall off his enduro bike rendered Guy 'hors de combat' and so Darcy Smith was brought in as a substitute and things were going well in practice with mid field times until the car broke and had to be withdrawn.
