Third places for Parr & Bracegirdle



The weather for the May day Bank Holiday race meeting at Castle Combe on May 6th was warm & sunny at last and saw the WPR team score a couple of podium finishes.

In the Formula Ford race Steve Bracegirdle qualified his Van Diemen RF89 in third place in Class C and maintained the position in the race. Pete Diccox in his similar car had an uneventful run to finish 21st.

In the saloons Guy Parr qualified his Fiesta third in Class C (8th overall) which also became third in the race. There was also a 'fun' race held for the saloons and Guy qualified 3rd overall and first in class but decided not to take the start. Also out in the Saloon races was Kevin Bird having a 'one-off' outing in the Team's Mini Cooper. Kevin qualified 19th for the main race and finished 14th despite being hit up the back at Quarry. In the 'fun' race he qualified 12th and finished 5th which was good for second in Class A.

Finally, Steve Bracegirdle was out again in the GT races in his Nemesis GT qualifiying 7th for both races and finishing 6th in the main race and 8th in the 'fun' race hampered by a front brake problem which turned out to be faulty caliper.
