A win for Wayne Poole!

After 7 months out of the cockpit and without a test on the Friday, Wayne Poole jumped into his Van Diemen RF88 and qualified third for the first Pre '90 race at Oulton Park on April 13th. A good start saw him lead on Lap 1 but fall to second until three laps from the end when he re-took the lead which he held to the finish - winning by a fifth of a second.

Starting Race 2 from pole, Wayne took an early lead but fell to second early on which he held until the end but a 10sec penalty for an adjudged jumped start dropped him down to third.

Don Boyack (Van Diemen RF88) and Ray Smith (Swift SC93) tested on the Friday with Don posting a PB time and Ray was planning to take in the Post '89 race on Saturday but a clutch seal went and there was insufficient time to get it repaired for the race.
