Finishes but no podiums for Steve Bracegirdle and Pete Diccox

The WPR team attended the late summer Bank Holiday meeting at Castle Combe on August 27th. With the holiday season in full swing just Steve Bracegirdle and Pete Diccox were out in the Formula Ford race and Steve in the GT race.

There was a different look for Pete, who was running the team boss's Van Diemen RF88 for this race, as his own Van Diemen was still being repaired following his roll at the previous meeting. Pete was also sporting a new helmet as a consequence of the same incident. Practice was wet and Steve, who is no fan of the conditions, qualified 20th amongst the Class C contenders while Pete was a little further back in 23rd. The race was drier and Steve was in contention for a Class C podium until he dropped back on Lap 9 to finish in 21st place a couple of places behind Pete who was fourth in the Class.

Steve was also out in the GT race in his freshly repaired and rebodied Nemesis GT. Following a good test on the Thursday prior to the meeting (from which the accompanying photos were taken) practice went well and saw Steve line up 5th (and 3rd in Class B). A fairly uneventful race saw Steve finish where he started, in fifth place, but unfortunately just missed out on a Class podium.
