The WPR team headed to Silverstone for a weekend of double headers with a pair of Formula Fords for Steve Bracegirdle and Ray Smith in Don Boyack's Van Diemen RF88 which he had owned previously and a pair of Sports Racers for Guy Parr in his familair Nemesis and Des Andrews in his recently acquired Hart (powered by a similar 2L Vauxhall red top).

In FF practice Steve got down to the 1m 05s while Ray only managed a couple of laps and had to start at the back of the grid. Both made good starts in Race 1 and by Lap 3 were running close together with Ray getting past on Lap 4 to go on and take the Class win. In Race 2 Steve closed on Ray and spend most of the race about half a second behind but couldn't get close enough to make a pass.

In qualifying for the OSS Race 1 Guy Parr went well to post third fastest time in Class B while Des Andrews got in 18 laps to qualify a comfortable 15th. In Race 1Guy had to start from ther pitlane but charged through the field to regain his original starting position of third in Class. Des ran steadily to finish 13th. In Race 2, after dropping a couple of places in the early running, Guy fought back to finish 2nd in Class while Des finished again this time in 12th place.
