Quiet day at Combe
With many competitors taking their summer breaks, the entries for the August 3rd meeting were a little down on their usual numbers and it was the same story for Wayne Poole Racing. The team was looking after the single entry of Alex Walker in his regular Classic Auction Review backed Van Diemen RF01 and Alex qualified third on the grid for both races.
For the first eight laps of Race 1 Alex was involved in a close battle with Luke Cooper and Felix Fisher as the trio traded the podium positions. On Lap 9 an incident caused Alex to drop to the back of the field, coming home 9th but with the consolation of fastest lap.
Race 2 was largely a repeat of the first race with the same three competitors disputing the podium places and Alex taking a hard fought third at the finish.
