Ben Mitchell, driving Richard Hudson-Evans owned and Classic Auction Review backed Merlyn MK20, starred in the Formula Ford race by qualifying seventh and finishing fifth ahead of some far more modern machinery. In fact the fifty (plus) year old, Class D car not only won the class with fastest lap but also set an incredible lap time of 1m 12.96s.
Graham Cox was having an outing in the team's Mini Cooper S in the Hot Hatch race and qualified 22nd but unfortunately the race was not run due to an ealrier incident.
