Second for Josh Fisher and a Class win for Steve Bracegirdle - more images!

On a scorching Bank Holiday Monday at Castle Combe the WPR team were present with their usual mix of Formula Fords and Saloons.

In Formula Ford practice Josh Fisher qualified second in the Richard Hudson-Evans Van Diemen JL14 but with an engine that was rather tired (and due to be taken out for a rebuild the next day) the team doubted a win was going to be possible.Unfortunately Josh lost a place at the start and in the time it took to regain second place (3 laps) the leader had already built a two second lead. Josh held the gap steady for the next dozen laps but was unable to get any closer. Steve Bracegirdle in his Van Diemen RF89 qualified ninth ahead of the other Class C runer in the field and maintained his position in the race to take the class win and fastest lap.

Graham Coc was in his Renault Clio for the Hot Hatch race, qualifying mid field in twelth place. A first lap incident at the Esses saw Graham make up a few places to complete the first four laps in ninth place. However, the engine was cutting out (cured by a reset) causing Graham to drop back to finish 11th.

Graham and Steve (Mini Cooper S) were both out for the Dave Allen Trophy race - a 45 minute race with a mandatory pit stop - qualifyng 22nd and 24th respectively. The race finished after the leader had completed 35 laps with Graham in 13th place (28 laps) while Steve was unclassified having completed 18 laps.
