News > Jim Morris' exciting plans for 2010

03/12/2009

Jim Morris, who has raced a Wayne Poole Racing run Van Diemen RF05 in Formula Ford events for the last couple of years is branching out in a new direction for 2010. Jim has recently acquired a 1963 Lotus 23B. This car has had a number of previous owners including Reg Skeels and Alain de Cadenet. The 23 was instrumental in establishing the Lotus name in International racing where it quickly gained a reputation as a giant killer by outperforming Porsches, Aston Martins and Ferraris which had as much as 4 times the brake horse power. So competitive was the 23 that the Le Mans organisers banned it from the race with the result that Lotus never returned to the French event. It is Jim's intention to do a few selected races in both the Masters and HSCC series and maybe even Goodwood.
