News > Jim Morris racing and Guy Parr testing at Silverstone

01/07/2009

Jim Morris was out at Silverstone last week in his WPR run Van Diemen RF05. He took in three days, testing Friday and racing Saturday & Sunday. Tom Margetson was there to run Jim and all was well apart from a problem with misfire on Friday which they thought had been sorted but remained during Saturday morning practice leaving Jim to start the first race from near the back. For the race Jim managed to finish and remain on the lead lap. Qualifying for the Club FF race on Sunday went much better, with the misfire now cured, and saw Jim set a time (1m 4.84s) which was good enough for the top half of the field. Jim made a good start from 12th on the grid and began picking off those in front of him getting up as far as 6th before a trip into the gravel ended his race on Lap 8. In spite of this he really enjoyed the weekend! In other news, Guy Parr was also out testing on Friday in his WPR run Nemesis GT car. He did two sessions was pleased with his results and is looking forward to racing at the end of August at Combe.
